Intensive Care Nurse - ICU Nurse - (ICU RN)
Primary Population: The MIU provides services to adult, acutely ill patients experiencing the following:
Respiratory Failure, Vent and Trach Management, Sepsis, COPD Exacerbation, Liver and Renal Failure, DKA, GI Bleed, CHF, Sickle Cell Anemia
Registered nurses provide care in conjunction with the care partner and medical team. The unit has 1 float nurse without patient assignment and one charge nurse without patient assignment. Skills that will be utilized are continuous infusion medication management, pain management, wound care, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, chest tubes, mechanical ventilation, continuous cardiac monitoring, and various continuous intravenous drips.
RN ratio 1:4; 1:3 with vent weaning patients
Candidates with general med surge or telemetry experience will be considered. telemetry, intravenous drip, chest tubes, wound management, ventilator, non-invasive ventilator experience extremely recommended.
The acuity level of this unit is comparable to ICU units in 600 – bed hospitals.
Current Compact state RN or NC RN licensure required. ACLS and BLS required.
