Job Description & Requirements

Emergency Room Nurse - Emergency Nurse

Common Diagnosis/Treatment: wide variety of trauma with high volume of penetrating trauma, stroke, sepsis, DKA, CHF, COPD. # of Beds: 78 Nurse Patient Ratio: 1:4 in TCU (ESI 1-2) 1:6 in main treatment areas (mixed acuity ESI 2-3). Charting: Cerner Scrub Color: Navy blue Areas of Float Support: Treatment areas within ED: triage, trauma, A & B team (main treatment areas mixed acuity ESI 2-3), TCU (high acuity ESI 1-2), express care (16 bed ED fast-track). Preferred ability to float to ICU and tele floors if needed. Special Procedures: massive transfusion protocol, independent care of vasoactive drips and medication titration. Care for ventilated patients.

Required Qualifications

BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIHSS
